Afro Brazilian Martial Arts and Fitness is the first program to offer the art of Capoeira on the Jersey Shore. Since the year 2000 we have been a part of the Capoeira community as well as performing in the NJ area with other groups as well as forming our own in 2002, promoting the art, culture,music, history and unique exercises and fitness that Capoeira has to offer.

Exercise is the meaningful way to relieve stress, develop and maintain muscle, stamina and endurance, hand eye coordination, balance, weight loss and management, and create social bonds with individuals involved. It also is a way to enhance sports training and performance on or off season. It is great to develop mental focus and help people learn more about the vast and various cultures of Brazil.

Capoeira is known to burn more than 500 calories in a workout , develop superior core strength and multiple muscles groups in one session, gain flexibility in major and minor muscle groups and adds the fun of dance, music, and singing in the workout to help in your overall well being. People of all ages practice Capoeira no matter what your background or ability.
